Residential Support Worker – Children’s Homes

We are currently recruiting to our homes across Devon. Working within our Children’s Homes is one of the most rewarding career choices you will make. Our homes are registered with Ofsted and provide support for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring their individual care plans and needs are met.

  • You must have the ability to drive, with access to your own vehicle. A valid UK driving licence is required and business insurance is essential to the role. An automatic driving licence may not be accepted because some homes have manual vehicles. If you hold an automatic licence, please contact the recruiting manager before submitting your application.

Pay and Enhancements

Hourly rates (based on a 37‑hour work week) plus up to £4,000 per year in enhancements.

  • Start rate: £13.90 per hour, rising to £14.82.
  • Overnight rate: £18.53 per hour, rising to £19.76.
  • Saturday rate: £20.85 per hour, rising to £22.23.
  • Sunday & bank holiday rate: £27.80 per hour, rising to £29.64.

Working Pattern

Shifts on a 3‑shift per 24‑hour basis (AM/PM/Nights or Sleep‑ins) with homes open up to 365 days a year. Shift times include 07:00‑14:45, 14:30‑22:00, and sleeping from 22:00‑07:00. Staff are required to work late nights, early mornings and stay overnight to support children’s needs.

Contract

Permanent, full‑time.

Salary Range

£26,824 to £28,598 a year plus enhancements up to £4,000 per annum.
