Equine Groom Apprentice for Top Carriage Driving Yard – Jayroc

Jayroc Stables are looking for a new member to join their team as an Equine Groom Apprentice. The yard is primarily a carriage driving operation competing and riding for pleasure, but also does jump hack and schooling horse training.

Salary & Apprenticeship

From £16,640 per year – Apprenticeship Level 2

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (some weekend work) – 40 hours a week. Exact pattern to be discussed with the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Mucking out, sweeping the yard
  • Filling hay nets and water buckets
  • Turning horses in and out, rugging up
  • Putting horses on and off the horse walker
  • Tacking up for driving and riding
  • Riding available for the successful candidate

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Confidence handling large, fit competition horses
  • Good knowledge of carriage driving preferred
  • Reliable transport – the yard is accessible by train and bus, with a short walk from the bus stop
