Nursery Assistant – Nursery & EYFS – Lambeth

Contracts: Full-time and part-time opportunities available with flexible start dates. Location: Lambeth and surrounding areas. Start Date: June or September 2026. Role: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across Nursery and EYFS, including children with mild to moderate SEND.

With growing demand across Nursery and Reception classes, we are looking for caring and proactive individuals who can support young children during these vital early stages of development. Roles will involve supporting learning through play, assisting with phonics and early communication, encouraging social and emotional development, and providing tailored support for children with additional needs. We have a range of opportunities available, ranging from flexible part‑time to long‑term full‑time contracts.

The Role:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support for pupils across Nursery and EYFS
  • Support pupils with mild to moderate SEND, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence in learning
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Support the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD)
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
  • Level 3 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy – Birth to 7
  • Level 3 Diploma in Playwork
  • Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS)

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Have recent experience working in a UK primary school setting
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
  • Demonstrate strong communication, patience and adaptability
  • Be enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning and development
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)

Pay: 93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting childrne or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. 100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting prupils with SEND including ASc, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
