Clerical Admin Assistant – Samuel Johnson Community Hospital
Fixed‑term secondment with no guarantee of release from your substantive post. Closing date: 21 June 2026.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with a 1‑hour lunch break. Saturday work may be required, with variations in start and finish times.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Trust’s Patient Access Team, delivering high‑quality, responsive outpatient, health‑records and referral‑to‑treatment education and validation services.
- Use a PC extensively; excellent keyboard skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word or equivalent are essential.
- Perform light physical work, including movement of case notes.
- Remain well‑motivated, organized and able to cope under pressure while adapting to a changing environment.
- Be an effective team player, able to work both within the team and autonomously.
- Demonstrate first‑class communication skills, recent customer‑service experience and prior administration experience.
Qualifications
Knowledge
- English and Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Computer literacy with good keyboard skills.
- Clerical / admin skills.
Experience
- Experience delivering customer service.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Previous experience within a similar acute administrative environment.
Skills
