- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with complex SEMH needs throughout the school day
- Implementing strategies outlined in pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans under SENDCO and therapeutic team guidance
- Supporting pupils through de‑escalation, emotional regulation, and reintegration following difficult periods
- Maintaining accurate, sensitive records of pupil well‑being, behaviour, and progress to inform wider MDT planning
- Building consistent, safe, and trusted relationships with pupils and families that underpin long‑term positive development
SEMH Support Assistant – What the School is Looking For
The ideal SEMH Support Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or complex needs in a UK school or educational setting is highly valued.
