Class 1 Night Trunk Drivers – Bristol – £18 per hour

Position

Blue Arrow Bristol is recruiting Class 1 Night Trunk Drivers for a well‑known transport and logistics company based in Portbury near Bristol (BS20). The roles are ongoing and full‑time, employed through Blue Arrow, working for the same client on an ongoing basis. We accept only PAYE drivers – limited company or umbrella drivers are not considered.

Schedule & Pay

Monday to Friday, shifts starting between 4 pm and 7 pm, lasting 9 – 13 hours. Pay rate £18 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Complete trunk runs to and from Yorkshire, Runcorn and Northampton.
• Deliver or collect flat‑packed furniture.
• Adhere to Safe Systems of Work, Health and Safety, and relevant driving and working‑time laws and regulations.
• Perform vehicle checks and report any faults or defects.
• Follow rules on fuel economy and harsh braking.
• Liaise with the depots on a daily basis.

Assessment Process

• Questionnaire on driving rules and regulations.
• Eyesight check.
• Vehicle check, report any defects or safety issues.
• Actual drive around.
• Classroom‑based SSOW training.

After assessment, new drivers are buddy‑up with an experienced driver for a few days before working independently.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid C+E category driving licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• No more than six points on licence for minor offences (no MS90, IN10, DD, DR or similar endorsements).
• Experience in a 7.5‑tonne or Class 2 role qualifies for newly certified C+E drivers.
• Access to own transport due to location of the company.
