Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate Catering Supervisor or Kitchen Assistant who can progress within our schools across Cheshire West and Chester, Wirral, Halton, and Flintshire. The role is based at Cathcart Street Primary School where you will support the Catering operations and represent both Edsential and the school to ensure that all pupils receive high quality food and excellent customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and presenting food to a high standard of hygiene and safe practice.
- Allergen management and dietary needs.
- Completion of all kitchen administration, including health and safety checks and allergen management.
- Maintaining accurate records to ensure kitchen targets are met, such as stock control, food orders and quality assurance.
- Managing relationships with school staff such as teachers, business managers and head teachers.
- Managing kitchen staff, processing timesheets, absence management and probation meetings.

Qualifications
- Previous experience of running a school kitchen would be advantageous.
- The ability to empower and lead a team.
- Ability to build relationships and promote a positive work environment.
- A lead by example attitude.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy customer‑facing role.
- Flexible to work within other Edsential units as required.
- Comfortable working with IT systems – full training will be provided on induction.
