Year 6 Teacher – Newcastle upon Tyne

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Walker. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner committed to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Support pupils’ development across the Year 6 curriculum, including English, Maths, and foundation subjects.
  • Prepare pupils for the end of Key Stage 2 expectations through structured and effective teaching.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted interventions.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment that supports learning and achievement.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to support academic progress and wellbeing.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching the Year 6 curriculum – essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
