Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young children to thrive? A large and welcoming primary school in Nottingham is seeking an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work across the Early Years setting, providing vital support within the classroom, leading small group interventions, and assisting pupils within the school’s specialist SEN provision. The school is looking for an individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential and who understands the importance of creating positive, nurturing learning experiences during the early stages of education.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Have experience working with children within an Early Years or primary school setting.
- Be confident supporting learning within the classroom and delivering targeted interventions to small groups.
- Have a good understanding of supporting children with additional needs, including those with SEND.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective learning opportunities.
- Working with small groups of pupils to develop key skills and confidence.
- Providing support within the school’s SEN provision, helping children access learning and achieve individual targets.
- Assisting with the social, emotional, and educational development of pupils.
- Contributing to a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
