About the Role
Our Plymouth based hospital is expanding to offer more services. We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to support increased theatre activity and inpatient ward establishment. The role focuses on placing patients at the centre of everything we do, ensuring high standards of safe and effective patient care.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist with routine patient monitoring and care duties such as changing bedding, assisting with personal hygiene, basic nursing care including catheter fitting and bag changing.
- Set up theatre rooms for patient treatment and ensure patient pathways are followed, obtaining consent before any treatment.
- Perform administrative tasks: gather patient information for admissions and discharges, collect and photocopy details, transport paperwork to other departments.
- Maintain health, safety and hygiene on the ward: keep the ward clean, monitor hazards, report issues promptly to the department manager.
- Manage stock and equipment, monitor levels and order supplies as needed.
What We’ll Look For
- Experience in a care home, hospital or clinical environment; NVQ Level 1 & 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent, Basic Life Support (BSL) certificate or Care Certificate (or willingness to undertake training).
- Computer literate with effective communication skills at all levels.
- Natural ability to make the lives of others more fulfilling, adaptable, and comfortable in a rewarding environment.
