Join Marie Curie as a Healthcare Assistant in East Kent and make a real difference to people living with a terminal illness in their own homes. This community‑based role involves delivering compassionate, person‑centred care at night, helping patients and families feel supported, safe, and dignified when it matters most.

As part of a multidisciplinary community team you will provide high‑quality care tailored to each person’s needs, including personal care, skin care and hygiene, support with nutrition and hydration, comfort and sleep, mobility, and maintaining a safe and respectful care environment in line with individual care plans. You will build trusted relationships with patients and their support network, working with sensitivity, professionalism and compassion.

Contract: PermanentSchedule: 27 hours per week, distributed over three shifts; Monday to SaturdayShift hours: 10:00pm – 7:00amSalary: £12.92 per hour plus a generous 41% uplift as a night shift enhancement (Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, Band 2 – AFC aligned)Location: Community‑Based – Canterbury

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience providing hands‑on care in a health or social care setting, ideally including end‑of‑life or community‑based care.
  • A compassionate, person‑centred approach and the ability to support patients and families with dignity and empathy.
  • Confidence working independently during night shifts while also contributing positively to a wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication skills, emotional resilience, and a calm, professional approach in sensitive situations.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car are essential, as you will travel to patients’ homes across the community.
