Job Summary

Band 5 Civilian Dental Hygienist – Part‑time at Defence Primary Healthcare, Dental Centre Halton, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. 21.5 hours per week with flexible working options considered.

Main Duties

Provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education, and administrative support. Enhance force generation and operational capability while minimising dental morbidity on operations. Offer clinical and administrative support for dental care in other DPHC sites or health fairs, when requested.

Qualifications

• Completion of a GDC‑approved Certificate/Diploma in Dental Hygiene or BSc in Dental Therapy
• Current full GDC registration, including any restrictions to practice
• Evidence of currency with GDC CPD requirements
• Evidence of indemnity cover for general dental practice
• Confidence in using information technology

Experience (Desirable)

• Full UK driving licence to enable travel to other local military dental centres
• Evidence of current practice as a registered dental hygienist
• Experience with ongoing indemnity cover for general dental practice
• Confidence in using information technology

Registrations and Memberships

• Provide your GDC membership registration number
• State if you are nearing completion of your qualification and will obtain GDC membership before starting
• Include details on any current, spent or impending restrictions to practice
