Deputy Director (Works Commercial)

We are supporting a major public-sector organisation undergoing significant estate transformation and infrastructure investment programmes.

They are seeking an experienced commercial leader to oversee high-value works procurement activity across construction, infrastructure, facilities management, and capital projects within a complex stakeholder environment.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong NEC expertise, public procurement knowledge, and experience managing major works/commercial programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy and procurement delivery for works and infrastructure projects
• Provide NEC contract expertise across complex procurements
• Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations
• Support senior stakeholders on commercial governance and procurement strategy
• Lead and develop commercial/procurement teams
• Manage high-value supplier and contract relationships

Required Experience

• Strong NEC3/NEC4 expertise
• Experience with PCR 2015 and Procurement Act 2023
• Background in works/construction procurement
• Experience leading commercial or procurement teams
• Strong stakeholder management capability
• Experience within public-sector, infrastructure, construction, or estates environments
