A newly created Head of Commercial Finance role with a large, profitable, multi-site consumer business at a genuinely pivotal moment — new investment, new commercial opportunities, and a CFO who wants finance to drive decisions, not just report them.
This is a business with a substantial customer base, high transaction volumes and multiple sites. The finance function is growing, and this role has been created to give commercial finance proper ownership and visibility for the first time.

- Commercial analysis across key income streams — margin, spend, profitability
- Partner, contract and site performance
- Budgeting, forecasting and reporting with a genuine commercial edge
- Challenging operational performance and turning data into clear recommendations
- Direct exposure to the CFO and senior operational leaders
- Managing one direct report, with scope to build the team further
What they’re looking for
A qualified accountant with strong commercial finance experience in a multi-site, customer‑facing trading environment. Sectors that translate well include hospitality, leisure, retail, travel, food service, restaurants, pubs, convenience, forecourts or anything similarly live and margin‑driven.
They need someone who gets into the detail but doesn’t live there — someone who can sit with an operational leader, understand what’s driving performance, and say something useful about it.
It’s for someone who already thinks commercially and wants more ownership, more visibility, and a seat at the table where decisions get made.
