We’re partnering with one of the UK’s largest digital consumer platforms to hire a Lead Data Scientist into a newly formed Data Science capability.
This is a genuine greenfield opportunity to help shape how machine learning influences customer engagement, subscriptions, retention and revenue growth across a business processing hundreds of thousands of events per second and managing petabytes of behavioural data.
You’ll be joining at a pivotal stage as the organisation continues its transformation towards a subscription‑led model, with Data Science becoming a critical part of future growth.
What you’ll be working on
- Subscription propensity modelling
- Churn prediction and retention analytics
- Customer segmentation and personalisation
- Dynamic pricing and offer optimisation
- Uplift modelling and causal inference
- Experimentation frameworks and A/B testing
- Model monitoring and performance optimisation
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial teams to translate customer behaviour into actionable insight and measurable business outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years in Data Science or Machine Learning
- Strong Python and SQL
- Experience deploying production ML models
- Strong grounding in statistics, probability and machine learning theory
- Experience working with large‑scale customer data sets
- Background in subscription, consumer, media, gaming, e‑commerce, fintech or similar environments
Experience with recommendation systems, propensity modelling, retention, personalisation or monetisation challenges would be particularly valuable.
