Our client, a recognised leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a dedicated and strategic Group Head of Sales / General Sales Manager to lead their sales operations, drive profitability, and maximise customer satisfaction within a dynamic dealership environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive basic salary up to £65,000, subject to experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to boost profitability and expand market share
• Foster a positive working culture that emphasises accountability and continuous improvement
• Oversee all sales functions, including retail, finance, and administrative activities
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and manufacturer requirements
• Analyse sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for development
• Collaborate closely with senior management to support the dealership’s growth plans
• Deliver excellent customer experiences to promote loyalty and repeat business

Qualifications

• Significant senior sales management experience within the motor trade, ideally over five years
• Proven track record as a General Sales Manager or General Manager within a franchised dealership
• Strong leadership skills with the capability to inspire and manage high‑performing teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Deep understanding of automotive retail processes and customer service excellence
• Results-driven with a strategic mindset
