Overview

At Soho House, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of the business in conjunction with the General Manager. The AGM oversees service standards, operational efficiency, member/guest experience and staff retention. Including day‑to‑day team management, the AGM is also an ambassador for the Soho House brand and fully embraces our ethos, supporting staff, member and guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee an inclusive environment that ensures all members and team members embody the Soho House Pillars and Values
  • Collaborate with all support office business functions to drive effective processes and implement innovative opportunities to enhance sales and staff/member retention through HR, recruitment, learning & development, F&B/operations, marketing, PR, MR, events & programming, finance, housekeeping and facilities
  • Lead and make decisions that support, guide, develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to improve business operations, service, retention and overall experience
  • Understand commercial viability and implement strategies accordingly
  • Manage day‑to‑day front and back‑of‑house operations and solve problems
  • Understand and apply MNE overview, direction and strategy
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with the General Manager to assess and develop operational goals based on weekly, daily and quarterly performance reviews
  • Execute action plans on time and within budget to improve business and optimize profit while maintaining exceptional experience for members, guests and staff
  • Adhere to company policies for food safety, allergy procedures, and create a safe and inviting space in partnership with health & safety leaders, following local, government and regional compliance and legal standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Thrives in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments and remains calm while solving problems under pressure
  • Hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
  • Demonstrates competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
  • Works flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Able to take direction, work in a team environment and work autonomously
