Job Description:

What you’ll do

  • Lead valuation function (monitor 15+ operating companies at varying levels of maturity across Europe, the UK, and Africa, private equity investments, listed securities, derivatives)
  • Full ownership of bi-annual audit of the Group’s impairment review / testing
  • Project manage purchase price allocation for business combinations, including the appointment of external advisor and review of their work
  • Build and maintain complex financial models (APV, NPV, ROCE, Rollup, Monte Carlo)
  • Track valuations, market data and related metrics (CAPM, WACC, ROCE)
  • Partner with FP&A and market finance teams to analyse budgets, rolling forecasts and long-range plans
  • Collaborate with teams across the Group, including Reporting, FP&A, M&A, Treasury, Tax, Governance and Investor Relations
  • Communicate financial analysis to executive management, addressing external reporting requirements, writing Group Board & Audit Committee Papers
  • Critique fair value and option valuations prepared by investment banks and financial services firms
  • Deliver and present valuations to Luxembourg and Dutch Holding Company Boards
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures on impairment and return on capital employed
  • Execute internal controls and SOX compliant documentation
  • Drive process improvements in valuation control
  • Proactively seek opportunities to support business wide transformation initiatives
  • Monitor restructuring provisions and prepare monthly journals
  • Prepare bi-annual common functions certification pack

Who you are

  • Degree qualified with professional designation (ACA or equivalent)
  • Qualified finance professional with a breadth of experience. 5+ years valuation related advisory or equivalent corporate finance experience, preferably in the telecom industry
  • Strong analytical, numeric mind
  • Extensive valuations and financial modelling expertise with the ability to apply judgement and challenge assumptions
  • Analyse and interpret complex financial data, and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Advanced excel financial modelling, portfolio monitoring and scenario analysis
  • Solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards (IAS 36, IFRS 3 etc.) and impact on valuations
  • Experience in project management and strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confident working with diverse audiences, with ability to effectively challenge more senior colleagues
  • Senior stakeholder management and influence, working collaboratively across functions and with senior executives, advisors and auditors
  • Effective time management, works well under pressure, meets deadlines and has a strong attention to detail
