The Stations team within WSP’s Rail division is actively seeking a BIM Leader to lead MEP delivery for a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary stations projects.

Responsibilities

  • Use Bentley MicroStation and OpenBuildings to model 3‑D MEP services, including cable management systems, pipework, ductwork, etc.
  • Create 2‑D sections from 3‑D models for incorporation into drawings and present designs on schematic and layout drawings.
  • Perform CAD modelling to the appropriate level of detail throughout all development stages (feasibility to detailed design and hand‑back) to relevant industry standards.
  • Coordinate design with other disciplines to ensure a clash‑free design, appropriate access and maintenance requirements.
  • Work with the project team to maximise data exchange across multiple software platforms, managed through a Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Support the engineering team by reviewing design data, mentoring and up‑skilling technical staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple software platforms, including Bentley MicroStation, OpenBuildings and ProjectWise.
  • Understanding of BIM and working within a Common Data Environment, preferably Bentley ProjectWise.
  • Experience working with offshore CAD and BIM resources is a valuable strength.
  • Good understanding of current and emerging software platforms, and industry peer group operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft software applications, including writing macros to undertake complex or repetitive calculations and experience with VBA is advantageous.
  • HNC/HND (minimum) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in rail and civil engineering design projects at tender, concept and detailed design stages.
  • Full knowledge of all design stages of a major new rail station project.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and engineering management skills within Rail.

Reporting to a senior member of the stations team. This role could be based in one of our Central London offices.
