Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our data engineering team focused on creating a hyper‑scale data lake that supports threat detection.

About The Role

The data engineering team builds and operates systems that centralize all data captured by our Falcon platform, enabling internal and external customers to transform and access the data for analytics, machine learning, and threat hunting.

What You’ll Do

  • Write highly fault‑tolerant Java code within Apache Spark to produce platform products for querying event pipelines and analytics.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ultra‑high‑scale data platforms that process petabytes of data.
  • Participate in technical reviews and help evolve product features to improve stability.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency and reduce latency of high‑performance services.
  • Research and implement new querying methods for internal stakeholders and customers.

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of experience in backend/cloud development and data platform engineering.
  • 5+ years building data platform products with Apache Spark, Flink, Iceberg, or comparable tools.
  • 5+ years programming in Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
  • Proven ownership of end‑to‑end feature design from ambiguous problem statements to delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, distributed systems design, and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience building large‑scale data/event pipelines.
  • Expertise designing solutions with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres/MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
  • Good test‑driven development discipline.
  • Reasonable proficiency with Linux administration tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with remote teams.

  • Go
  • Pinot or other time‑series/OLAP databases
  • Iceberg
  • Kubernetes
  • Jenkins
  • Parquet
  • Protocol Buffers / gRPC
