Who are Hartley Pensions?
Hartley Pensions are a SIPP and SSAS pensions operator based in central Bristol. Since July 2022, the company has been in a trading administration. Under the administration of UHY Hacker Young, Hartley Pensions continues to operate an essential service to clients whilst preparing to transfer members to new UK-based operators and wind down the business.
As an Interim Senior SSAS Pensions Administrator, your duties will cover a wide array of tasks which include the following:
- Dealing with all aspects of SSAS administration including new business requests, retirements, transfers in, transfers out, deaths, loans, investments, etc.
- Work closely with colleagues in providing technical and administration support to the members of the SSAS Administration Team.
- Submission of SSAS & SIPP HMRC annual scheme returns and SIPP return of annual information, also prepare and submit any event reports to HMRC for the SSAS and SIPP scheme when required.
- Completion and submission of the SA970 Tax Claim to HMRC for any SSAS schemes that have paid tax on their scheme investments.
- Submission of the Pensions Regulator scheme returns within the required timescales.
- Ensuring all schemes are registered with the Information Commissioner and dealing with annual renewals.
- Completion and submission of the FCA Gabriel Returns for the SIPP schemes, including Complaints, Product Sales Report, etc.
- Dealing with communications to and from clients, solicitors, accountants, and intermediaries whether in writing, by email, or over the phone.
- Dealing with payments from the scheme accounts and ensuring that all payments comply with the company Client Money policy.
- Preparation and management of the SIPP Annual Reviews to ensure deadlines are being met.
- To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required.
About You
- Excellent communicator and good at inter-departmental communication and collaborative working.
- Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
- Ability to manage expectations of stakeholders and challenge when required.
- Analytical and organised with a methodical approach.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach whilst maintaining legislative rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of SSAS schemes from the moment of new business to the transferring out of a scheme.
- Self-organised with a competent numeracy and literacy level, and an ability to pay strong attention to detail.
