What’s The Opportunity

Our Property Consultancy team provide strategic advice and guide clients through a full spectrum of property consultancy, housing asset management and compliance related activities. Due to our continuing success and growth, we have an opportunity for a Residential Surveyor / Stock Condition Surveyor to join our team. The role would particularly suit an individual from a residential building surveying background, with experience of large-scale stock condition surveys and related asset management. Knowledge of electronic data capture systems is essential. Travel to project-related locations is part of the role from our offices in either Winchester or Manchester.

What you need to do to be effective in this role

This Is a Varied Role And Includes The Following

  • Field-based data collection, undertaking stock surveys and providing EPCs
  • Assisting with the management of surveys and co-ordination with fieldwork managers
  • Liaising with the data analysts within the team
  • Undertaking physical reinspection’s, accompanied visits and other data on site QA checks
  • Dealing with confidential data
  • Providing input into asset management advice and support
  • Completing Decent Homes and HHSRS assessments and validations

The skills and experience you need to have for this role

  • Appropriate qualifications such as RICS or CIOB would be highly desirable including knowledge of construction technology relating to residential accommodation.
  • Up to date knowledge of current asset management, compliance and statutory best practice and regulatory requirements will be essential in advising clients.
  • Additional compliance related experience and qualifications e.g. DEA, FPA, NEBOSH, P402/405 would be desirable but not essential (energy assessor training will be provided if not currently held).
  • Attention to detail and a professional demeanour is important. You will ideally be methodical and have a high level of intellect – combining excellent management and oral skills to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality within agreed timelines.
  • It is anticipated the role will require initial and on-going training in areas where knowledge may be limited, and you will be fully supported by Ridge in gaining this expertise.
  • Experience in related databases (not necessarily within the housing sector).
  • You should have an analytical mind with excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust outputs for the team and clients.
