Senior Clinical Fellow – Hepatobiliary Surgery & Transplant
We are inviting applications to fill our Senior Clinical Fellow vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery & Transplant. This post is a fixed term for 12 months. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a licence to practice by the intended start date.
Main duties of the job
The Department of Transplantation & Hepatobiliary Surgery offers an excellent opportunity for higher surgical training in liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery and organ retrieval. The post involves a 12‑month fixed term contract and offers exposure to over 1000 major procedures annually.
Responsibilities include:
- Participation in the out‑of‑hours rota for organ retrieval and coverage of transplantation & hepatobiliary surgery or general surgery emergencies.
- Cover elective and emergency inpatient and day‑case surgery, general, transplant and hepatobiliary specialist outpatient clinics.
- Regular ward duties and general hepatobiliary specialist out‑patient clinic work.
- Pre‑admissions clinics, operating theatre and outpatient work, post‑operative intensive care, discharge letters, discussions with relatives and initiation or change of treatment.
- Eligibility for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and holding a current licence to practice.
Previous experience in organ retrieval, transplantation & hepatobiliary surgery is highly desirable.
