Lead Palliative and End of Life Care Nurse

We are seeking an experienced nurse leader to shape and improve palliative and end of life care across community and integrated services. This strategic role will lead service development, improve quality and patient experience, and drive integrated, multidisciplinary care closer to home.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with expertise in palliative care, strong leadership experience, and a passion for compassionate, person‑centred care, aligned with UHCW values.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this post. An international driving licence is not accepted.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Job responsibilities
- Provide senior professional leadership and corporate accountability for palliative and end of life care services across Integrated Care and Community Services.
- Lead the strategic clinical governance framework for palliative and end of life care, ensuring alignment with PSIRF, quality surveillance, risk management and assurance reporting.
- Act as the expert advisor within community group and system delivery on palliative and end of life care, influencing strategic decision making, pathway standards and policy development.
- Analyse and interpret complex clinical intelligence, performance data and trends to inform strategic planning, service assurance and risk mitigation.
- Identify, manage and escalation risks, ensuring shared accountability and multidisciplinary oversight.
Requirements
Mandatory: Registered Nurse with palliative care experience.
Additional: Strong leadership experience and passion for person‑centred care.
