Staff Nurse – Acute Neurology

Overview

We are looking for Experienced or Newly qualified Band 5 Staff Nurses to develop as nurses in neurology medicine. The role is based in an acute setting and involves caring for patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate personalised health and wellbeing care for patients.
• Perform clinical tasks including personal hygiene, vital signs and NEWS monitoring, early recognition and management of acutely ill patients, safe transport, fluid balance monitoring, enteral feeding, ECG, catheterisation, venepuncture, cannulation, blood transfusion, palliative care, PICC line care, admission and discharge, nasogastric tube insertion and care, IV infusion pump care, IVIG and cytotoxic infusions.
• Provide psychological and spiritual support.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient experience.

Qualifications

• Band 5 Staff Nurse, either experienced or newly qualified.
• Experience working in an acute hospital setting.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge in caring for acutely unwell patients, especially neurological conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and flexible skills with a motivation to learn and develop professionally.
