Our busy CYP Daycare and Outpatients unit sees over 6000 patients a year, providing systemic anti-cancer therapy, radiotherapy and supportive care for children and young people aged 1-24. This unique unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital delivers high quality, evidence-led care.
We are looking for candidates who have the drive and passion to bring ideas forward and lead projects to improve the patient journey. A qualification in oncology or a related specialty is an essential Band 6 requirement, and we will support you in this journey. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, consistently role-model positive behaviour and support the development of team members, including pre- and post-registration placements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
- Exercise clinical judgement and decision-making regarding patient needs, focusing on long-term goals and plans.
- Participate fully in the day-to-day organisation and running of clinical trials, including recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a trial, and liaise with trial sponsors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification in oncology or a related specialty (Band 6).
- Experience in chemotherapy administration or relevant clinical experience in a cancer care setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead improvement initiatives within a multidisciplinary team.
