Role Overview
The Public Affairs Officer reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Chair and the wider Executive Team.
In this role you will lead the organisation’s public affairs and policy activity, monitor and analyse legislative and political developments, and design and deliver advocacy and campaign strategies aligned to organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain senior relationships across government, regulators, industry, and advocacy groups.
- Produce high‑quality briefings, consultation responses, and policy papers.
- Translate complex data and research into compelling insights to support external communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the organisation’s overall policy positioning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in public affairs, policy, or government relations.
- Strong understanding of the UK political and legislative landscape.
- Excellent communication, influence and credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proactive, resilient, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in financial services, credit, or related policy areas is an advantage but not essential.
- Confidence in running campaigns, media engagement, or public speaking is an advantage.
