Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity for an electrically biased Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join a small, close‑knit maintenance team within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on keeping production moving through effective fault finding, breakdown response, and planned maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery. You’ll be hands‑on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dusty environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on motors, sensors, wiring, panels, and control systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams
  • Support PPM schedules and lead on preventative maintenance where required
  • Work on conveyors, mixers, kilns, ovens, and other heavy industrial machinery
  • Complete electrical logs, fault reports, and maintenance records accurately
  • Support machinery upgrades, installations, and site improvement projects
  • Work collaboratively within a shift‑based engineering team to ensure plant uptime

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Electrical qualification at NVQ / C&G Level 3 or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship background desirable (or minimum 3 years hands‑on experience if HNC/Degree qualified)
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding skills in an industrial setting
  • Solid understanding of motor theory, panels, sensors, and wiring
  • Experience working in dirty/dusty manufacturing environments
  • Ability to work Panama day and night shifts
  • A proactive, practical mindset

Desirable Skills:

  • PLC knowledge (Siemens experience advantageous)
  • Experience with AC/DC drives
  • Mechanical changeovers and basic mechanical fault finding
  • Experience with industrial control systems and automation
  • Electronics and instrumentation experience
