Fibre Field Engineer-OTDR Testing

Fibre Field Engineer – OTDR Testing. Field based covering Scotland and Northern England patch; based in the Edinburgh area.

Salary: £36,261 – £41,261 plus company vehicle, fuel card, on‑call allowance, overtime, pension, 25 days holiday, life assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and incident response for broadband, telephone and TV reception service faults in customer premises across the regional patch.
• Diagnose and repair fibre optic faults on site, including fibre splicing and GPON network fault finding.
• Use OTDR tester to analyse results and identify root causes.
• Work full time, permanent role with on‑call rota (Mon‑Fri).

Key Qualifications

• Experience of FTTH (Fibre to the Home) networks.
• Fibre splicing and fault‑finding experience within GPON network.
• Proficient with OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and analysis of results.
• Full UK Driver’s License and CSCS card.
