Senior Consultant – Programme & Change Acceleration
Lead and support the delivery of complex business transformation and change initiatives across multiple sectors, applying programme expertise to help clients achieve successful, sustainable change.
Responsibilities
- Independently lead the execution of workstreams on client delivery and mentor/coach junior team members.
- Champion the use of P3M methodologies, tools, and processes across client engagements and contribute to P&CA thought‑leadership.
- Embed governance, controls and reporting to enable effective oversight and standardisation at all levels of transformation initiatives.
- Support the development of internal training pathways to strengthen P&CA capability and coach junior team members.
- Apply a commercial mindset to identify and pursue new opportunities to support clients and shape P&CA service offers.
Additional Development Opportunities
- Business Development – contribute to proposals, RFPs, bids, client pitches, and client hosting at events.
- Internal Contribution – develop campaigns, participate in think‑tanks, author whitepapers, and support practice, operations, recruitment, and team events.
- Learning & Development – undertake training, certifications, and other professional development.
Qualifications
- Proven track record delivering complex transformation initiatives across multiple industries, with expertise in programme and governance, stakeholder management and risk management.
- Experience managing workstreams or small projects on client engagements, leading high‑performing teams, and delegating tasks to direct reports.
- Expertise across multiple P3M methodologies and approaches.
- Strong commercial awareness, including ability to identify and convert sales opportunities and manage budgets effectively.
- Demonstrated skills in people development through coaching and managing others.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Relevant P3M qualifications such as MSP, MoP, P3O (Axelos); PMQ, PPQ, ChPP (APM); PMP, PgMP (PMI); PRINCE2 Practitioner or agile equivalents.
- Experience supporting portfolio management, including planning, governance and reporting.
- Experience within the UK public sector, understanding of governance frameworks and stakeholder landscapes.
- Ability to succeed in a matrixed organisation and secure support and commitment from peers to sell and deliver consulting solutions.
- Currently working in a major consulting firm or in industry with prior consulting experience.
- Experience building and delivering propositions.
- UK security vetting status of Security Check (SC) or willing to obtain within six months.
