Bristol City Centre (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

£100,000 – £120,000 + 20% Bonus + Additional Benefits

Are you ready to be the driving force behind a cutting-edge defence start-up? Our client, a fast-growing innovator in the defence sector, is looking for a senior hire in the Commercial team – a Head of Commercial who will shape the future of their business.

The Role

As Head of Commercial, you’ll be the go-to expert for all commercial and contract matters, responsible for bidding into the MoD across various defence categories. You’ll play a key role in winning business, structuring deals, and ensuring compliance, while also building and leading a high-performing team as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and grow the commercial function, setting the strategy for business development and contract management

Develop and manage bids for MoD contracts, ensuring competitive and compliant proposals

Negotiate, review, and manage contracts, acting as the key commercial decision-maker

Advise on risk, compliance, and legal considerations, ensuring adherence to defence industry regulations

Collaborate with senior leadership to drive revenue growth and market positioning

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a customer facing senior commercial/contracts role within the defence sector

Strong knowledge of MoD contracts and UK defence contracting frameworks

Ability to develop commercial strategies and execute winning bid processes

Leadership skills, with the ambition to build and mentor a commercial team

Entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up environment
