We are supporting an innovative global biotechnology organisation that is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its expanding UK team. This is an excellent opportunity for scientists with a strong research background who are interested in developing a career in business development, scientific consulting, and client engagement.
No prior business development experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and academic research organisations.
- Engage with leading scientists to understand their research objectives and drug discovery needs.
- Present the company’s scientific capabilities, services, and research solutions.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the life sciences sector.
- Attend conferences, scientific meetings, and industry events to build networks and generate leads.
- Collaborate closely with internal scientific teams to support client projects and strategic partnerships.
Candidate Requirements
- PhD in Pharmacology, Immunology, Biology, Oncology, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
- Hands-on wet-lab research experience.
- Strong experience working with mouse models and conducting in vivo studies.
- Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Genuine interest in transitioning from a research-focused role into a commercial position.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to meet clients and attend events.
