Interim Environment Enforcement Lead

Starfish Search is supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Environment Enforcement Lead to lead its environmental enforcement function and support the development of a new integrated enforcement service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the environmental enforcement team
• Provide technical expertise on environmental enforcement policy and legislation
• Support the development of a new integrated enforcement service
• Ensure enforcement activity is delivered effectively and consistently
• Drive service improvements and performance management
• Advise senior stakeholders on enforcement matters
• Develop policies, procedures and operational standards
• Build strong relationships with internal and external partners
• Prepare reports and updates for senior leadership

About You:

• Experience leading environmental enforcement services within a Local Authority
• Strong knowledge of environmental enforcement legislation and policy
• Experience managing enforcement teams and service performance
• Ability to drive improvement and support service transformation
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in a politically sensitive environment
