Group 1 Volkswagen Chelmsford Service Technician Apprenticeship – VWG – Volkswagen Passenger Cars

Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our Service team and embark on a long‑term career with excellent earning and progression opportunities once you complete the apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
- Use of diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
- Testing of parts and systems to ensure correct working.
- Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined.
- Carry out bumper‑to‑bumper overview, service and inspection.
- Maintain electronic systems including on‑board entertainment systems.
- Undertake repair and maintenance of vehicle parts including clutches, gearboxes, tyres, brakes and suspension.
- Complete legible and accurate paperwork for customers and centre records.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
Training & Qualifications Received
- Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)
- Certificate in Automotive Refrigerant Handling
- Brand specific certifications
Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales: Framework
- Level 2, progressing to Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (VRQ)
- Level 2, progressing to Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (VCQ)
- Certificate in Automotive Refrigerant Handling
- Brand specific certifications

Qualifications Required
- GCSE grades 9–4 (A–C) or equivalent in English, Maths and Science.
- In Scotland, applicants must have or be predicted to achieve Scottish National 5 Grades A–C or above in English, Maths and either a Science or Technical subject.
