Time-Served Welders – Methil (Navantia UK)

Location

Methil, Fife – working on major UK maritime and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

Weld on major maritime and industrial projects, performing all positions welding using FCAW and other techniques, and successfully complete the ISO 9606‑1 qualification test.

Required Qualifications

• Time‑served welder – 4G minimum
• SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)

Essential Welding Experience

• Strong experience with FCAW
• Ability to weld in all positions – Butts & Fillets
• Experience working with ceramic backing tiles

Advantageous (But Not Essential) Experience

• SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)
• MCAW
• Mechanised welding systems

Welder Qualification Test (ISO 9606‑1)

Process: 136 / FCAW.

Testing will cover:

• PF / Vertical Up – Root, Fill & Cap
• PA / PE – Flat Root (basic cored wire) / Overhead Fill & Cap
• Ceramic backing tile for root pass
• Supplementary PB / Flat fillet weld

All testing will be witnessed by Navantia UK personnel and an IACS representative.
