Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Cheltenham for a MOT Tester and Service Technician. The role involves carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards, accurately documenting results, and advising customers on any required repairs or advisories. The MOT Tester and Service Technician will also perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including brakes, exhausts, suspension, and tyres. Daily tasks include completing job cards, maintaining workshop equipment, adhering to health and safety procedures, and contributing to a clean, organized working environment. The role also requires clear communication with customers and colleagues to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Qualifications

  • Valid MOT Tester (VTS) qualification and current DVSA license, with proven experience in MOT testing.
  • Relevant automotive qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong skills in vehicle servicing and mechanical repair, including tyres, brakes, exhausts, suspension, and basic diagnostics.
  • Ability to interpret technical information, follow manufacturer guidelines, and complete accurate documentation and test records.
  • Commitment to health and safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with DVSA and company standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused attitude and professional approach.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (or equivalent) suitable for driving customer vehicles.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced workshop or autocare environment is advantageous.
