We are seeking a talented and meticulous Draughtsperson to join our team. This pivotal role bridges creative vision and technical precision, demanding a keen eye for detail and a passion for transforming event concepts into buildable realities.
About you:
You’ll be collaborating closely with designers and production teams, confidently navigating evolving ideas and tight deadlines. A mastery of 2D and 3D design software is essential, along with a proactive and solutions‑oriented approach to bringing stunning event designs to life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent spatial reasoning, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You should be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Creative Team, Event Managers, Production Managers and Workshop team to understand event concepts, themes, and spatial requirements.
- Develop accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings of event layouts, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
- Create technical drawings for event structures, staging, lighting, sound, and other technical elements.
- Produce high‑quality renderings and visualisations to communicate design concepts to clients and the event team.
- Generate detailed construction drawings and specifications for vendors and contractors, ensuring alignment with the Head of Set Design’s vision.
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements and assess existing conditions when applicable.
- Maintain organised project files and drawing libraries.
- Stay up‑to‑date on industry trends and best practices in event design and drafting.
- Support the Studio team with things such as Art working and Video Archiving (training can be provided).
- Make suggestions to reduce/reuse materials to help aid our sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Draughtsperson or in a similar role, preferably within the event industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, or other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of technical drawing principles, standards, and conventions.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and visualization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with designers and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- A portfolio showcasing relevant work experience.
