Qualifications
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card
- Proven record of fencing systems installation
- Ability to carry out installations and comply with strict deadlines
- Decision‑making and responsibility at all times
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic IT computer literacy
- Good observational skills for health, safety and quality issues
- Focus on safety, environmental and quality compliance at the construction site
- Professional approach and manner at all times
- Flexibility during periods of change
- Ability to learn, understand, promote and apply new technologies
- HSG47 qualification
- Previous experience on substation/gas sites preferred
Responsibilities
- Installation of steelwork and fence structures
- Notify the Lead Fence Installer of deviations or additional purchasing requirements
- Report defects, snags, complaints, health & safety incidents, near‑miss situations and safety defects to the Lead Fence Installer
- Ensure the company’s image and name are upheld at all times
- Liaise with client representatives as required
- Verify times claimed on timesheets and any other personal expenses
- Monitor own daily work activities and report progress and concerns to the Lead Installer
- Adhere to company management systems and processes
- Ensure all work is installed and executed in accordance with the work specification
- Follow all risk assessments and method statements
- Secure all necessary permits before commencing any activity
- Promote good practice of material sustainability (reuse and/or recycle) to reduce waste and save costs
- Report defective materials and substandard workmanship that does not meet specifications to the Lead Installer
- Perform minor civil works (sills, small foundations, drawpits, ducting)
- Travel and work away from home as the role is field‑based and UK‑wide
