Paralegal – Business Crime & Professional Misconduct

This leading Top 100 firm is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our Business Crime & Regulatory team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a genuine interest in criminal and regulatory law to join a growing team that advises on a broad range of professional misconduct, regulatory and criminal defence matters.
The team acts for serving police officers in misconduct proceedings, as well as individuals facing criminal investigations and prosecutions. The work is varied, often fast-moving and offers exposure to interesting and complex cases from an early stage.
You will work closely with partners, associates and trainees, supporting the team across a busy caseload while developing your own knowledge and experience in this specialist area.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of case preparation and management, including:
- Conducting legal research
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Preparing bundles and hearing materials
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and external organisations
- Managing files and key deadlines
- Assisting with investigations and evidence gathering
- Providing administrative and practical support to lawyers across the team
The role offers significant client contact and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.
About You
We are interested in candidates who are organised, proactive and keen to build a career within business crime and regulatory law.
You should have:
- A law degree
- Previous experience working in a legal environment
- Strong legal research and drafting skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A professional and confident manner when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Experience in criminal law, professional discipline or regulatory work would be advantageous but is not essential.
We would also welcome applications from candidates with experience of anti-money laundering matters, regulatory investigations, interviews under caution or police station work.
