We are recruiting for:
- Ganger (Team Leader) – from £34,796
- Highly Skilled Craftsperson – £32,433
- Skilled Operative (Lead 2 Person Crew) – from £30,273
- Skilled Operative with LGV Licence – from £30,273
What You’ll Be Doing
Across these roles, you’ll be involved in maintaining and improving North Yorkshire’s highways network, including:
- Kerbing, drainage, paving and patching works
- Installation and repair of street furniture
- Traffic management and site safety
- Operating machinery, plant and vehicles (including LGV where applicable)
- Leading teams and delivering projects (for senior/lead roles)
- Supporting winter maintenance and emergency response
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in highways, construction or civil engineering
- Relevant qualifications or willingness to train (e.g. traffic management, plant, safety)
- LGV (Category C) licence (for LGV roles)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A proactive, safety-first approach
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and take part in out-of-hours rotas
