Job Overview

Job title: Female Personal Assistant/Childrens Support Worker (This job advertisement for females only falls as an Exception Under the Equality Act 2010)

Hours per week: 4 hours weekly during term time increasing to 12 hours during school holidays (hours to be worked flexibly and mutually agreed in advance)

Location: KINMEL BAY

Rate of pay: £14.80 per hour

I am a 10‑year‑old girl who is loving and affectionate towards family and familiar people. I have Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, significant sensory difficulties, and a profound learning disability. I am looking to recruit a support worker who is kind, reliable, patient and can help develop independent living skills and take part in activities in the community to widen my social horizon and experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and build a trusting relationship.
  • Take part in social activities, provide sensory opportunities and be open to trying new things.
  • Improve my social and life skills, promoting independent living skills.
  • Supervise to keep me safe, especially around roads and in the disability buggy.
  • Promote positive self-esteem and self-confidence during activities.
  • Support my personal care in a sensitive and caring manner.
  • Provide non‑judgmental emotional support and listen actively.
  • Follow instructions and maintain a professional standard of care at all times.
  • Restrict use of personal mobile phone except in emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with people living with autism and a learning disability.
  • Knowledge of using visual supports to aid understanding is an advantage.
  • Will promote and support confidence and independence.
  • Person‑centered approach and genuine interest in supporting people to achieve their goals.
  • Trustworthy, kind, punctual and reliable.
  • Patient and supportive with good listening skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respects privacy, including prohibited use of social media.
  • Can work flexibly, adapting to changing requirements.
