Role Overview

Location: Brent, London.

We are looking for a Floating Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Criminal Justice – Mental Health accommodation team. The floating support worker will empower a caseload of service users to manage their health and wellbeing, supporting a staffing rota offering care from 8am to 10pm Monday to Sunday.

Responsibilities

  • Empower and support a caseload of service users to manage their health and well‑being.
  • Support staffing rota and provide care from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.
  • Actively monitor wellbeing, mental health, housing and living environment to ensure service users journey into independence.
  • Take a solution‑focused and co‑produced approach to supporting users with their move‑on into independent living.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Quick learner who can gather and process detailed information accurately.
  • Make informed decisions and share relevant information appropriately while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work constructively and collaboratively in high‑pressure environments with individuals displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Maintain a calm, solution‑focused, and non‑judgemental approach.
  • Optimism about clients’ capacity for change and strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Flexible attitude toward working unsociable hours, including early, late, and occasional weekend shifts.
  • Willingness to learn – it is acceptable not to tick all boxes on entry.
  • Lived experience of supported areas is valued and should be mentioned if comfortable.
