Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to individuals in their homes and community settings.
  • Assist with daily living activities, from attending appointments to accessing community groups.
  • Offer emotional support and encouragement, helping people build resilience and confidence.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, social workers, and voluntary organisations to coordinate care.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to care plans that reflect each person’s unique needs and goals.
  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices and connect people to wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for helping others and improving community wellbeing.
  • Experience in a care, support, or community-based role (formal or informal).
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • An understanding of mental health, safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
  • Flexibility, empathy, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • A valid driving licence (desirable but not essential).

Benefits

Full-time 37‑hour a week contract. 31 days’ paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 33 days. Option to buy additional holidays. The role covers the Manchester area and may require travel to support people in their homes. Work‑lifestyle balance is encouraged and flexible working arrangements can be discussed.

Work Hours and Location

Work 9‑5.30, five days a week across a seven‑day period, including weekends and bank holidays. A flexible schedule and travel within the Manchester area are required.
