About the company

Working with local authorities and a range of stakeholders, they support essential works by providing effective temporary traffic management designs that enable projects to be delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with required standards.

Role Overview

As a Traffic Management Designer, you will be responsible for producing temporary traffic management plans, coordinating design requests, and ensuring programmes are delivered accurately and within agreed timescales.

Working closely with internal teams, local authorities, and external stakeholders, you will help ensure traffic management schemes are designed, reviewed, and implemented successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop temporary traffic management plans using specialist design software
  • Coordinate incoming design requests and monitor daily workloads to ensure deadlines are met
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, and highway authorities to resolve issues and maintain project delivery
  • Support planning and resource coordination across traffic management operations
  • Review site requirements and provide practical, compliant design solutions
  • Ensure designs meet relevant safety, legislative, and industry requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across design processes and service delivery

About You

We are seeking a Traffic Management Designer with strong technical ability and excellent communication skills to join a growing highways team.

Requirements

  • Experience producing temporary traffic management plans and highway-related drawings
  • Strong IT skills with experience using design software such as BricsCAD or similar
  • Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritise workloads effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within highways environments
  • Relevant traffic management, highway design, or CAD qualifications are advantageous
