Responsibilities
- The specialist Perinatal Mental Health service will provide consultation, advice, treatment and liaison for women with a moderate to severe mental disorder during pregnancy and up to a year after birth.
- The team will support the wider health and social care environment in raising awareness around perinatal mental health issues.
- The service provides mental health care for patients and provides care delivered on need rather than age or IQ, answers the telephone in a professional, helpful and courteous manner, taking accurate messages and ensuring timely distribution.
- All records are maintained efficiently and accurately and proactive monitoring of retention periods and Trust storage facilities is conducted.
- All queries and complaints are handled in a professional, helpful and confidential manner and within Trust guidelines, with responses managed pro‑actively.
- E‑mails are responded to in a timely manner, circulated correctly and with the appropriate importance/sensitivity marker and subject title.
- Accurate and timely completion of various paperwork in connection with staff (e.g. annual, sickness, variation forms/new starter forms/maternity).
- Production of appointment, clinic, discharge and birth plan letters.
- Booking appointments over the telephone.
- Pro‑actively manages completion of training and appraisals to ensure a minimum of 90 % completion.
- Effective use of the Trust’s Patient Information System (RiO) and Excel for extraction, recording and accurate inputting of data. Good understanding of RiO pathways and admin responsibilities, ensuring effective/timely delegation of tasks.
- Successfully arranges meetings and coordinates, collates and ensures accurate and timely distribution of papers. Minutes are accurate, well written and presented, and effectively distributed in a timely manner.
- Responds to all colleagues in a positive, professional and helpful manner, taking the ‘wider view’ at all times.
