We are currently working with a highly regarded secondary school seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their thriving Science Department on a long-term basis.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical science lessons
• Supporting teachers during laboratory activities when required
• Safely handling, storing, and disposing of chemicals and scientific materials
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring resources are readily available
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
• Upholding health and safety standards and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures
• Keeping laboratories and preparation areas clean, organised, and well-maintained
• Providing general administrative and technical support to the Science Department

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to hear from individuals who have:

• A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific subject
• Previous experience working within a laboratory environment
• A sound understanding of chemical handling and laboratory safety practices
• Strong IT and administrative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and organised approach to their work
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career as a Science Technician
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
