Teaching duties will involve:
Teaching Responsibilities
- Preparation for, and in-person delivery of, lectures and practicals
- Tutorials and fieldwork
- Supporting students’ learning
- Setting, marking and providing effective feedback on assessments
Qualifications and Expertise
- Expertise in basin analysis and geophysics (seismic interpretation and borehole geophysics) required
- PhD or equivalent in geosciences or a related discipline
- In-depth knowledge of basin analysis and geophysics
- Knowledge and/or experience of teaching in closely related disciplines (sedimentary geology, structural geology, earth resources, etc.) desirable
- Proficiency in data analysis, geospatial, modelling or related capabilities, consistent with the School’s digital ambitions
- Experience in contributing technical knowledge and transferable skills to multidisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the School, including fieldwork
- Ability to teach sedimentary geology (facies analysis, petrography, surface processes) desirable
- Ability to work effectively as part of a programme and module team
