Senior Activities Coordinator

Sandhills Court Care Home, Exeter Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 7AS

Permanent contract – 30 hours per week – Alternate weekends required – £12.85 – £13.85 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Run morning and afternoon activity sessions tailored to residents, including musical acts, days out, exercise classes, community visits, arts and crafts.
• Produce and update an activity planner and manage the activity budget.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities and support them during sessions.
• Organise birthday surprises for residents.
• Coordinate all logistics for planned activities, events, performers, and days out.
• Liaise with external companies and performers to arrange outings and events.
• Assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner duties when necessary.
• Organise one‑to‑one sessions with residents using reminiscence tools, puzzles, reading, or casual conversation.
• Maintain paperwork, care plans, activity notes and manage emails.
• Support the home’s social media channels as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Creative thinker with strong ideas and excellent organisational skills. Able to manage budgets, maintain paperwork, and prioritise activities as they arise. Passionate about caring for others, eager to motivate colleagues, and comfortable building community links. Possesses a sense of humour and enthusiasm for improving residents’ quality of life.
