Role Overview
You will provide one‑hour sessions 2-3 times per week to a Year 2 pupil with Down syndrome who has been out of education since February. The role involves delivering highly personalised English and Maths activities through games, practical learning and engagement‑focused approaches, while adapting sessions to accommodate the pupil’s recovery from recent leg surgery.
Responsibilities
Deliver highly differentiated, engagement‑focused learning and adapt content to the pupil’s individual level. Maintain positive, nurturing relationships and support confidence, engagement and access to learning.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting pupils with Down syndrome or similar SEND needs
- Experience delivering highly differentiated, engagement‑focused learning
- A teaching qualification or relevant tutoring experience
- Strong knowledge of adapting English and Maths activities to individual learning levels
- A calm, patient and encouraging approach
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
