Estates Officer Entry Level (Technician) Electrical Band 5

Role Overview

• An Estates Officer Entry Level post plays a key role in the Estates Engineering Maintenance Services. The individual will support the Estates Officers and maintenance team in delivering maintenance programmes that contribute to the Trust’s objectives in a safe, cost‑effective, efficient manner and comply with legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and good practice.
• Provide multi‑skilled mobile maintenance support across the Trust’s estate, delivering responsive and planned maintenance to clinical and non‑clinical buildings. Ensure the safe functioning of building services by carrying out electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general fabric tasks, travelling between sites to prioritise work to support patient safety, operational continuity, and statutory compliance.
• Undertake maintenance and repairs to Trust properties, equipment, grounds & gardens, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, HTMs, Trust Policies and procedures to keep a clean, safe, functional environment for patients, the public, and staff.
• Work as part of a small group of managerial/technical staff who manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust standards, procedures and legislation.
• Travel between hospital and community sites as required.
• Prioritise workload based on urgency, site need, and Estates Manager direction.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment, ensuring safety for use.
• Plan and organise operational maintenance for the estates maintenance team under the guidance of the Estates Officers, ensuring engineering and building service needs comply with statutory and mandatory requirements.
